Call Pilot 150 External Transfer Not Working

Call Pilot External Transfer Not Working.

MICS and Call Pilot 150 - Don't know versions. It was working before the blackout, but that was 2 years ago and I programmed it through the phone. I have since added a network cable. After I set the IP and the Mask, I tried logging in through Firefox and I was faced with a setup or install .exe program, which I went through and I could finally log-in. Never in 40 years have I seen that. I also added an Opti-UPS.

Call Pilot Manager
Set Path: 3 Transfer.

Set Pool 1 - Why I don't know, as I'm using a "Link" (Flash Hook) to transfer the call.

Tried: #602XXXXXXX - Doesn't work.

Tried: #D602XXXXXXX - Doesn't work

There are only 4 characters that will work in the string... # * P D p d.

The * = Cancel. Why or how that could be used in the string, I don't know as there are no examples.

I listened to the dial-out with a BS and it' dialing something and when it's done, I'm hearing the Home Menu again; weird.

I'm purchasing a Motion Technology TPM-32 Digit Grabber on eBay, so I can actually tell what it is dialing.

Seems like I'm making all the right moves, but I'm apparently missing something.

When I got home, I thought maybe I should have tried an * at the end of the string.

I really should have port forwarded the CP so I could have worked on it at home when they were closed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Best,
Mike

Do you have supervision set on all the lines? also can you answer a call and manually transfer the call externally using f71? Under terminals and sets/restrictions there is allow link, I'm not sure if that applies to call pilot extensions, it's been a long time.

Yes on the testing with a phone is a good start...F71 # release

Make sure that the Outdial method is Line 1(or other) or Pool 1, both will be ignored when it see's the '#' and will use the line it's on already.
Also try a P - Pause, maybe the carrier is a tad slow to receive digits, try a PP is it's still too slow.

" I tried logging in through Firefox and I was faced with a setup or install .exe program"
I have also never seen that but I have also been walking people through loading and connecting lately too.
Maybe you installed an Add-on, check out the add-on list and post the name you think it might be.

Thank you all for writing.

Supervision is turned on.
Link works fine when done manually from a phone.

A successful Hook-Flash Transfer needs a termination after the digits are dialed. Where does the hang-up come from?
After the digits are dialed, does CP automatically terminate the call? Maybe I should insert a "P" at the end of the string to help it connect and at least start the ring cycle.

I think I did try #PD602XXXXXXX. it didn't work.

There are 4 special characters allowed in the string... #,*,P,D.

# = Link (F71).
* = Cancel
P = Pause (4 seconds)
D = Recognize Dial Tone (1.4 Seconds).

I cannot find any information on the * command. Does anyone know what it's used for? Does it emulate a "Timed Release" (F72)?

I'll know more when I'm able to use the TPM-32 Digit Grabber and see the digits.

In the mean time, I will check (F985) VM x251 to see if Link is allowed.

I'm also going to Port Forward the CP so I can work on this thing from home. Every time I go there it's a 50 mile round trip.

I will keep you all abreast.

Thanks again for writing!

"Where does the hang-up come from?"
The voicemail automatically does a link at the end, I think on older software versions we had to put a # at the end.

"D = Recognize Dial Tone (1.4 Seconds)."
There shouldn't be a need for 'D'.

"* = Cancel
and

I cannot find any information on the * command"

* & # is multi use in the dial string depending on how you need to dial and/or what you dial to.

* is also used to Cancel when programming, such as when screwing this entry up and you want to start again:

#5 to insert #
3 to insert Pause
2 to enter more digits
602XXXXXXX
#

Program string 5#32602XXXXXXX#
Result #P604XXXXXXX

"Never in 40 years have I seen that"

Since your near dead...here is a cheap dtmf-tone-grabber-kit.

Well I finally got it to work; and apparently the "D" is necesary.

Initially after I programmed the darn thing I would hear the Menu that I set-up at the primary store. Not knowing the digits it was dialing, added to the mystery. If I programmed my cell phone into the string, it worked flawlessly. Stumped. I looked on eBay for a digit grabber; I just had to know what digits it was dialing. My next visit I connected my butt-set and the digit grabber. I found that it was dialing the correct number of the sister store and then it hit me... their phones were forwarded back to the primary store. I tried dialing the sister store with my cell and it hit the primary store and I answered the call with feedback. I told the owner that the sister store was forwarding their phones to his primary store and he said..."...but they never do that." I told him to call the sister store and it came back to his store. I think I charged him for 3 visits. Sorry I didn't see your link for the grabber kit until now. The one I purchased is compact and comes with its own Gucci Leather Case. LOL

I wish it were hands-free, but it does have to be connected. A long time ago, I saw what looked like a pager and if you turned it on and placed it next to a HF phone that was dialing, it would reflect that number in the display. Anybody ever see one of those? Or maybe it's the "Mandela Effect" kickin-in.

Thanks all for your kind help! See you on the next head slap.

Best,
Mike
