Hi,

My Friend's phone system/vm is having some issue. I was told that in the absence of a front desk recpetionist, all calls that come in hear main greeting. After main greeting, the General Delivery voice mail beep comes on and takes message.

What is now happening is that unanswered calls hear main greeting, then there is about a 4 second silence, then the Call Pilot says wait as I transfer your call, then ringing, then the Genenral Delivery mailbox greeting comes on and then the beep. I've left a couple test messages and that is OK.

The main issue is that the beep after the main greeting is gone... what can this be?

Thank you!

You do not get a beep after an Auto Attendant greeting. The AA greeting is for the caller to do something like dial an extension press # for a directory. It is working correct if while in the AA you don't do anything it will say (One moment please) and transfer the call to a main phone or Mailbox. You only get a beep from a mailbox not the AA greeting.

If you want it to go straight to the Gen Del mailbox after the Greeting you need to make sure in programming that you have it set for no Attendant Available. Right now the system thinks that it has an Operator to go to if none presses a button that’s why you hear the One Moment Please and then the rings.

Thank you all for the input!

hawks: i think you got the concept, how can I set it to 'no Att Avai' so that the call goes straight into the Gen Delivery mailbox after the greeting ends?

Thank you again

Log In with Feature 982
In there you should see Attendant Available YES or NO.

Sorry, since you implied it was working before I had thought you meant the GD beep.

I think my old trick was to put Adnt DN as 000 in F982 and/or also Table/1/Atdnt as 000
This was so you didn't have to hear the Operator Unavailable comment? I cant recall now.
