Hi,

FYI... I'm a newbie to Call Pilot 100... I would like to back the config up to my PC. I read through a few threads and discovered that you can access the CP 100 by changing your laptop NIC address to 192.168.110.11 or 12 or other IP in the CP's default subnet - can I initate a back-up via this LAN connection? and how?

PS... I just posted another thread before this 1 asking for help to fix a GD problem and this prompted me to get the back-up of the config in case I need to re-boot the CP 100.

Thank you!

All info is in the FAQ's section half way down - Norstar Call Pilot 100/150:

Backup is straight forward.

If the CP is on their network then you can just go to it as long as you have CP Manager on your laptop.

thank you both for the input!

curlycord: great FAQ, very helpful

hawks: I managed to get to the CP 100 home page via using IE browser & a cross-over cable to t he LAN port on the CP 100... will the use of CP Manager provide additional features and if so, how do I get this application - there is no CP disc on site.

also... I found the back-up utility on another thread, downloaded it, followed directions and archived the 1st back CP back-up, but it seemed to take a long time (close to 45 minutes) is this normal?

thank you curlycord! I was worried there for a minute on the length of time it took... glad it's normal and thank you for clarifying the CP Manager question

Call pilot needs the Backup Utility installed on the PC.
