I just installed a cics rls 7.1 with a call pilot 100 i changed the lines to answer after 5 rings from 3 then i was told that i need to change the fna to 6 rings for the phones to mailboxes well my greeting (greeting 1) no longer plays it is a generic one and the lines pickup (AA) after 4 rings not 5 and the mailboxes answer after 4 not 6 any ideas?

It has been along time since I had to do any programming on a Norstar, but the first thing that comes to mind is who is the control set for the lines?

I was told that i have to go into system programming change drt to no and transfer recall? to 12 and that should solve it sound right?

I dont think those options would have any impact with this. First off, it is not a transfer issue correct? Just the lines not being answered at the correct ring cycle.

Did you make sure all the sets the lines appear on have a longer FNA then what AA picks ups?

For your greeting, I am assuming you made sure that it is still programmed to the AA/CCR that is in use by the lines.

Is the generic message the general delivery mailbox?

You need your AA to answer with one less ring than DNs with ringing on them CFNA to Vmail. AA has choices 1-12, CFNA has choices 2,3,4,6,12.

Control sets have nothing to do with it.

I always leave Transfer Callback @ 6, CFNA will take control if it's also at 6. DRT should be No.

Guys you were right ext. 21 was set to 4 changed to six everything started working great!!!!!!!!!!
