Okay I have a Nortstar that has an analog extension through an ATA. I have a main number ringing at a digital set in the same room. I don't want the analog extension to ring, but want to be able to answer the incoming line at it. How can I make this happen without having to dial a feature code or use a flash hook? My analog device has a DTMF keypad, but no hook flash capability.
My Avaya experience would put both extensions in a calling group and have the analog extension setup for auto answer.
Step by step would be nice. I am not great with Nortel.

REad FAQ 5351. you must have a device that has a flash or link button. No exceptions.

Is your analog device a 500 type set with no link/flash key? If so, why not have the ringing line on the digital set assigned as 'appear only' on the ATA, then when the digital set rings, the analog set can be answered by going off-hook

Spruce, that may work! It is a voice switching system that has a digital dtmf on the touch screen and can pick a pbx interface. So basically works like a 500 type with no flash or function keys.
