I have a Legend R6. I have users trying to backup the operator. They press call pickup [oper] and get the call on hold not the ringing call. Can I make the pickup only pickup the ringing call?

no, not on the operator, that is how the system works

I thought so. I figured I would programs the trunk group to ring a hunt group with the only member being the operator. I'll see if that works.

Here is a portion of the description from the Legend Feature Reference guide:

Individual Pickup
Individual Pickup can be used in the following ways:
• EXTENSION PICKUP. From the display, select Pickup and then dial the extension number of the call to be picked up. Alternatively, set a programmed Individual Extension Pickup button to pick up calls on one specific extension. If that extension has more than one call, the first call sent to the extension is picked up. To pick up a call parked by an operator, select Pickup from the display or press the programmed Individual Extension Pickup button; then dial the park zone.
• LINE PICKUP. From the display, select Pickup, then dial the line number (801–880) to select a specific outside line from which to pick up a ringing or held call. Alternatively, a programmed Individual Line Pickup button can be set to pick up calls on one specific line. Line Pickup also can be used to make announcements through the loudspeaker paging system.
• GENERAL PICKUP. Multiline telephone users can program a general-purpose Pickup button to pick up calls on either extensions or lines. When a general Pickup button is used, enter the line or extension number for the call to be picked up every time the button is used.

If you program it on a button the code would be *9 for general Pickup or *9+ Station number for Individual. By using this feature you can pickup calls ringing on the console whether it is a DLC or QCC type.

that's great but I don't want to pick up the calls on hold. The instructions I read said call pickup, *9 + ext, picks up held, parked or ringing calls. Thats out out the quick reference guide.

How about a cover button for the operator as long as it is set up as a DLC- you can have multiple coverers for the DLC, I believe it is 8. You could also set them for delayed ring if needed.

Hey fonedude,

Maybe you should explain just exactly what you are trying to do!
Then we won't provide info you don't want!

If people posting would be more detailed and concise, then maybe the answers would hit the nail on the head the first time... And reading what you are posting before posting...

Back in 91 or 92 being an AT&T tech we bought this customer complaint way up the ladder , but were then told by tier 111 , it is the operators job to answer the ringing call, every one else will get the holding or parked call, that's the way the system works

it was always AT&T position that the operator job, that the operator only job was to ans. & transfer the calls only & that's was why most of the systems were set up with a QCC operator

What's with the excamation points? I asked if just the ringing call could be answered. The receptionist doesn't want others picking up the calls on hold. When the coverers press the call cover button I only want them to pickup the ringing calls.
