Good afternoon! I'm preparing to program CCM phones for a new Police station with about 15 different departments. Due to cost I'm told to install as many one and two-line phones as possible. The users are used to having 16-line phones with everyones extension in the depatment on their phone so I need to make it work smooth if possible. I think call pick-up might be the deal. So the question is.... If users are in a pick-up group and a call comes into their group what kind of display and audible signal will they get? Will a button change to indicate it's a call pick up group call and they have to press it? Is it user friendly?
BAT question: There will be about 160 phones in 15 different departments. How "handy" is BAT? Will I need a seperate template for each department? Are there any tricks or "gotcha's?
Thank you for your help!

I don't think they'll get any indiaction other than hearing the phone ring.

As for BAT, my advice is do everything possible in the Phone Template and keep the BAT file as simple as possible. Start out with 1-4 phones in the first attempt then if all goes well increase the number of phones in the BAT file. Don't start with 50 phones because you'll end up fighting so many problems it'll get frustrating.

under the call pickup group/Call Pickup Group Notification Settings, use the setting audio and visual alert. then when a call comes in anyone in that group will hear a different sound, kinda like a trickle down waterfall with bells.

Hope this helps.

with call pickup groups you can set what kind of alert the phones in the group recieve. None, audio, visual, or both.
The audio alert is a gentle tone, while the visual will show you on the display the calling number -> called number.

To answer the phone, depending on template, pick up the phone and press the Call Pickup button. You should then see a screen the displays the calling information in and prompts with a yes or no to complete the answer/transfer.

works really well after you ajdust the timers and train the users.

This works on 6.x dont know about the others.
