I have main Pilot line which has been charged a $huge amount. Customer has asked to investigate if there is any programming on the pabx where the calls are being tied up and ends up on the main number. I have asked billing group to provide all ddi's but they think there could be programming on the PBX where numbers have not been enabled for a part number forwarding. I assume if i go in ld 49 check current mapping to see if it is linked??

Hi,

Hope I understood your problem correctly, that you have one main line called as pilot number under which there are several hunting numbers which are prog. as DID(direct inward dialling)and lands on extension as and when dialed.

If so, then as far as my information the service provider will give you cummulative billing for pilot(line) number only and not for the hunting lines, unless and untill asked for call record details for all the hunting numbers. I believe, the $huge bill you 've received is for pilot number + its all sub(hunting)numbers.

For more details get in touch with your service provider.

In case of DID, we use "IDC" Table (Incoming Digit Conversion) in LD 49 only if the last four digit(DNIS) coming from CO/service provider doesn't match the extension number series programmed in PBX.

Hope this helps, if not pls correct me.

tough question with no more information.. the idc table translates inbound numbers only.. doesn't change billing numbers to the carrier..they don't know or care that you did a translate.. might check the clid table to make sure that the dn is question is not being used by other users. as far calls hanging and the billing to procede, unless your using analog trunks, that is highly unlikely.. if your not using cdr, you might consider turning it on. 90 percent chance if the clid tables are clean, the calls are being made.. check for any exten that are cfw to a ld number or worse, cfw to 9

The pilot number should be the billing number for all the lines that fall in that group so it could be high. Is this somthing that just started or has it been high and now they are just trying to lower bills?

I have found out that vpns who call forward their extensions to mobile have the billing go directly to the main pilot number. Is there any programming on the extensions itself that would put charges against their own ddi rather than being sent to the main number

if your billing it set up to bill the clid number, you cab build a clid that shows the full number xxx xxx did, so the did is sent as the calling number, i don't use clid billing, because so many of our ext have public access and the accounting dept does not wany 5600 bills each month
