Hi All

We're looking to implement a CCME VoIP system, would like
to go with the following hardware/software;

Cisco 2621XM running CCME
Catalyst 3550 w/ Standard Multilayer Image
5 cisco IP phones.
AIM-CUE module for unity express (future purchase if still available)

Am confused about what combination of VICs/NMs we need for the 2621. Looking to have 2 isdn lines for in/out calls (not bonded- so 2 different numbers). Should i go with the VIC-2BRI-NT/TE or VIC-2BRI S/T, does it make any difference
that we are in th UK when choosing between the two modules(and that there is no PBX to connect to and there would be no devices between the router and ISDN lines). Also i have no experience of VoIP whatsover - I'm familiar with Cisco devices and CLI but could i manage a simple 5 user single site office setup (no legacy PBX either) without bringing in consultants (i.e difficulty rating). I understand that the CCME has a GUI interface but the VoIP network must be up and running before u start using CCME - how hard is this to achieve can someon recommend any books or a good place to start.

Much Appreciated

If you are familiar with Cisco CLI on switches and routers, then you should be pretty good to go with CCME. Read the documentation a few times to become familiar with the terms. If you have no clue how telephones work (like hunt groups, etc), then read up on some general information (not the CCME supports hunt groups, but I used it as an example). As far as basic call processing of 5 phones, I could train a monkey to support them, especially it is is not a converged network. I think you could roll this out rather easily as long as you have SmartNet. You are going to have questions, but without v-mail, it is very simple.

CCME does have a gui, but you have to load the GUI file on the router. You still have to do a little CLI.

I am not familiar enough with the UK standards to help on the BRI choice. I would contact the lcoal Cisco office and see what they say.

It is what it is!!

There is a great CCME website out there, and I can't for the life of me, remember what it is.. I have it book marked on my PC @ home, so I'll get that and post it later..

I found it on forums.cisco.com so if anyone else skims across it, go ahead and post it..
