Does anyone know if it is possible to upgrade Call Manager 4.2 on a Generic PC running Call manager 4.0? If so are there any instructions out there? I was told there is no full blown version of CM 4.2 so I had to buy 4.0 and upgrade from there.
Techincally, yes, I suppose that's still true. However, if you have CCM 4.0 or 4.1 running on a generic PC, simply run the ciscocm-ffu.4-2-1.exe upgrade file. I've done this several times with not a single issue. Mine is running the current 4.2(3) release. Just remember to follow the build instructions - also, you must have upgraded from OS release 2000.2.X to 2000.4.X before CCM 4.2 will work. The install will fail otherwise.
