We have BCM 400. Last week we have to reboot the BCM since we can not make outgoing/internal calls. The system seems to be restored after we reboot the system but now we have some weird behavior.

We have some weird messaging coming over the display on the phones. when the user was on the phone and the user got a “protocol error” message as it disconnected the call. And just now it shot over a message “normal clearing” when the user hung up.
We also got the report stating the some user are getting the same message, the phone rings and no one are on the other line.

Can someone give us a clue about this issue?
Thank you,

sienz

Are u using a pri? Does BCM pri protocol match the telco side?

Yes, we are using PRI for this BCM.

I am not sure if the PRI protocol match with the Telco side or not.

How can i verify this?

Thank you for you response

U have to contact your telco to find out how their side is setup and then make sure the BCM is the same.

Ok, Thanks.

I just looked at the BCM Element Manager and go to Telephony resources and I saw PRI with protocol DMS100.

I assumed this is the protocol that you are mentioned above.

Questions
1. If this is different with the telco side, it is possible that we still have the system up and running?
2. If i need to change the protocol, do i just need to choose from the drop down menu? i dont see the save button on this page

Thanks

Make sure you have the latest SU, there was a problem like his that was resolved in SU17 i believe.
