I have a DN that does not have a phone associated to it. I want to configure that DN to forward all calls to the users cell phone. I have configured the DN to fwd all calls to her cell phone. When i dial that ext from the inside or outside i get Not In Service or You have entered an invalid extension.

I am not sure what i am doing wrong..

Thanks

Nick

yes assuming you have done this against a digital set & the system needs that set to be plugged in to see extn settings. What type of system are you running? & what S/w level?

Remember if it doesn't work hit it harder

I am using a BCM 400 with 3.7 loaded.

I was once told that you can put an answer dn on a phone for the extension you want to forward, then the calls will go. I tried this once, but couldn't get it to work. I didn't take any time to troubleshoot it though. If you have spare IP clients you can register an IP phone to that extension, then click on the setting:keep dn alive. You can then unplug the phone and it will still work.

I tried that and i can dial the DN with no problems when the Fwd All Calls is blank. Once i enter the phone number i am getting Not in service.

Any other ideas?

If the IP client won't do, I've done this craziness too. If you have a spare call center skillset, set the overflow routing to call forward external to the cell number. Or use an ATA, but an IP client is less expensive I believe.
