Hi guys,

I've an issue where users cannot use the redial facility when using call history -> outgoing calls. The system return invalid. I've turned on the CCS trace but nothing shows up. I checked CoS but can't find anything related .

Any thoughts ?

Thanks,

It is most likely not dialling your outgoing access code. e.g. 9 before the number in your call history.

Have you set your "Outgoing External Call Prefix For Applications" in the System Options form?

Hi Sarond,

Thanks for replying.

Well I thought about that but I'm not using an external call prefix. The field is empty.

you need whatever a user would use to dial out. i.e the typical dial 9 in North America. Otherwise it dials without an access code and you get reorder tone.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

LoopyLou,

What I meant is there is no need for a prefix. The user simply dial the number he wants to reach. (it is the same number that appears on the redial list )

so you don't use a trunk access code hmmm...Do you have to dail an end of dial character or do your outside calls go as soon as the last digit is dialed?

Well I'm unsure how it works for application but for users, I route calls to specific trunks depending on the digits dialed (i,e landline or mobile) and the number is sent on the trunk as soon as enough digits are received.

As it is a small deployment, I never understood the need for a external call prefix.

The redial is based on the Incomming number, However the network does not send the leading zero you have to manually add this in the Mitel, Is this possible the problem.
The way you have your system set you should see in the ARS leading digit form 0 as a leading digit, so if the incomming number has not been modified you would need to manually add this on the phone to dial out. This would cause no CCS trace as a leading digit had not been used.

Just to add a bit of history, Dialling a 9 was inherited from systems previous to ARS being used when you had to tell the system you wanted to dial externally, To save confusion this was used on new systems so operation stayed the same. they picked a 9 so it didnt clash with operators which were often zero

The type of set might matter.

- Please confirm that the digits displayed in the history have an ARS route without adding any digits.

Please describe the exact process to access the history and then dial.

ARS Routing VERY Important - Cannot use Direct trunk select.
