Hey all, I'm sure I've done this before. An employee moved to another desk. She had to change her ext as she was taking over the previous persons position. But she was still getting calls from her old 241 ext.

So i go to the superconsole and pop in 241 and CFA to 283.

If you call her old ext, it forwards to the new one. However if she is not there or no answer then the call reverts back to 241's mailbox.

So I deleted the mbox and now it goes the generic greeting.

Very confused.

This is the correct behavior the mail see the number you called not the number you fwd to

This is how the system is designed to function.

The original number dialed is retained for VM integration regardless of the intervening hops.

Look at the following FAQ to overcome this.

Thanks guys, those FAQ's point to a 3300, I've got a sx200 (should have mentioned that in first post).

I guess I could CFA it to reception and they could put it thru.

Thanks again!

Jim

yes system type is important.

On the 200 not much you can do other than what you've already decided.
