Call Forwarding to outside number on 4.0 Software

I have a client that needs to forward three extensions to cell numbers of those respective employees. The MICS has 4.0 software; can this be done or do I need at least 4.1???
If I need 4.1 then do I need the software upgrade tool or can I just 'power down' and then swap the PCMCIA card and 'power up' again or would I need to reprogram the entire system.
Any suggestion are greatly appreciated

Yes you need 4.1 for External Transfer
No tool needed.
Power down, swap software, power up and wait.
No re-programming required.
