Call forwarding to iPhone/Caller ID

I know we can turn caller ID on or off on iphone. But we have users that forward their desk calls to their iphones and that number that comes to the desk phone does not flow thru to caller id on the iphone.
Is this a problem with iphone or the phone system (CISCO).

There are a couple of things that come into play when forwarding calls from a phone system to another number. First, there is probably an option to send the CID of the calling party to the PSTN that needs to be changed in the Cisco, provided the system is using some flavor of ISDN or SIP to connect to the outside world. Second, depending on the service provider, some allow any CID to be sent with the outgoing call, others will only allow the numbers assigned to that business to be sent as CID. So you need to check with the person that administers the Cisco phone system.
