Hi,

We have an IPS 2000 connected to another PBX. If I call from the IPS 2000, the phone at the other end rings at least 8 times before the voicemail picks up.

Is there a timer for call forwarding (no answer) between 2 PBX?

Here are my timer settings in both PBX:

PBX # 1:( calling side)

410>01:06- (6x 4sec = 24)
410>15:03- (3x 4sec = 12)
410>46:03- (3x 4sec = 12)

PBX # 2: (called side)

410>01:06- (6x 4sec = 24)
410>15:03- (3x 4sec = 12)
410>46:03- (3x 4sec = 12)

In the distant side PBX, you can set up individual call forward timers in 4 sec increments using CMD E607 + E608.

Yeah this is a good idea, but I would rather use a timer.
I would like all the extensions to have the same call forward timer.

Is it possible?

Try at both sites:

410>01:04
410>15:04
410>46:03 or 06

These work for us on our 53 sites , all IPS2000
CFNA: 4 rings

I have almost the same setting and it rings 8 times.
I don't get it. Maybe a system reset will help...

Are you sure there is actually a call forward set? Or is this an automatic transfer destination? Have you tried varying the timers and testing the effects?

Well, all calls are forwarded to voice mail when there is no answer.

I did some test with the timers and here is what I get:

Here is my timer for external call:

410>01:06- (4 seconds x 6 = 24 seconds)

If I call the extension from the outside it takes 24 seconds for the voice mail to pickup and I get 4 rings.

However if I call from the PBX to the other PBX it takes also 24 seconds for the voice mail to pickup BUT I GET 8 rings.

The rings are shorter when it's an inside call that is maybe why it rings 8 times.

I assume you are using CCIS between these two systems. If so remember that the call is considered an incoming trunk call since the call is coming into the other PBX on a CCIS trunk. It will then follow the 410>01 timer. You are also correct when you say an internal call rings at a faster interval then a regular outside trunk call. This is because you are hearing ring back generated by the PBX and not the Telco.

Well I'm about to go nuts.. since yesterday the timer is not working.
It rings twice no matter what setting I put in the 410 command.

It was working for a while and then it stopped.

My other PBX is fine with the same setting:

410>01:06

Is there a setting somewhere that could cause that?
