Client has a mixed IP-PBX vendor network, a number of clustered MiVB (3300) systems connecting via SIP/MSDN-DPNSS/Q.SIG to other IP-PBX systems.

The client would like to enable call forwarding across their corporate network but disable call forwarding external to the public phone network.

For example allow call forwarding from a Mitel phone to another IP-PBX phone but NOT allow forwarding to cell-phones or other public telephone numbers.

Am I correct in thinking that an MiVB cluster sees any number NOT in the Remote Directory Assignment as “external” ?

Any thoughts on how to do this would be much appreciated!

Hi Tj,

If you have a look under the class of service options form there are a list of approx. 15 call forward options (some include external in the title). I would imagine this is the best bet of how to turn it off (I haven't done this myself yet).

I know its picky but when using the controller we call them local and remote extensions that can be accessed. Local being on the actual controller and remote being on another controller but in the same cluster. Being remote, I'm not sure if that also means that its external but I would have a play with the class of service (choose a fresh record to test with so not to disturb all users) and mix and match options to find a solution.

Hope it helps a little. Cheers, JCCDM
