Call Forwarding and voicemail between two systems 1

Hi folks,
I have two systems - 61C here and CS1000 down south. Both have sig servers and we are connected so that we can 4 digit dial between systems.

I have two ladies who perform the same job at both sites and they often need to forward their calls between each other so calls from outside are not missed.

They can forward the calls fine but no matter how I do the SFA I can't get either one's voicemail to pick up in the event of no answer or busy. SFA works great here between two phones on the same switch but not between the two sites.

Here is how it gets treated now:
Outside caller > 5014/5007 > fwd to 1257 > no answer or busy 1257 CallPilot picks up but sees the digits for 5014/5007 and gives caller the message that "you have been forwarded to voicemail however user does not subscribe to this system" and no valid attendant has been defined.

Ideally, What I want is for voicemail at second site to pick up but I will accept voicemail from first site.

both sites use Call Pilot 4.5

can it be done?

here are the current TNB's for both phones - I have fuill access to both switches and both CP servers/managers so any changes can pretty easily be done.

The second phone does have 2 DID numbers but I get the same treatment no matter which one I forward to or call from outside...

As always, THANKS!

Can you print and post the RDB for the tie route between systems?

Also, would it suffice to add the 5014/5007 as extension DNs to the CallPilot mailbox so the caller gets to leave a message and the operator at the appropriate site check the messages?

As for the other, do you mean add 5014 and 5007 to the VMB of 1257 at the other location? (And vice-versa) I didn't think I could do that... Are sites that can 4 digit dial between each other able to handle voicemail like that too?

The route looks programmed correctly, or at least the way I would do it.

Yes, add 5014/5007 as extension DNs to 1257 mailbox. Whoever is at 1257 would then check those messages. It sounds like those calls are getting to that mailbox now but CP doesn't know what to do with them.

If your CallPilots are networked, those messages could be forwarded to the intended recipient's mailbox.

Hmmmmmmm, I'm not sure I want both ladies to need to check all the mailboxes. They get calls on their own too so if Lady A gets all voicemail for Lady B then she might hear vmail not intended for her. and vice versa.

The only time Lady A needs to hear voicemail intended for Lady B is when Lady B forwards her phone to Lady A. And vice versa.

The scenario: Ordinarily, A is north and B is south division. They routinely handle their own areas for this one function and also have other duties specific to themselves. There are times, though, when one will go on vacation or otherwise be unable to take calls (from hospitals in a time sensitive manner) so one will forward their phone to the other. If the other got up to go to the bathroom or lunch she needs to know a call came in and be able to retrieve that message. If she was called directly by a Hospital in her area, her vmail handles it. But if the other area called the other lady (not knowing, of course, the other lady was out)the call gets forwarded to the first lady. If she is there she can answer the call but if she is out, the call does not get answered by her vmail and I think it should...

I know when A is foprwarded to B the vmail at site B picks the call up but since the forwarded number doesn't exist in the B's call pilot it gets hung up.

However, when B is forwarded to A, if A doesn't answer, A's Call Pilot transfers to the operator. Better than nothing, I guess, but I'd rather it go to voicemail.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to sell you on this or mean to keep beating a dead horse but I don't think you and I are on the same page. Let me post the scenario as I see it in my head and you tell me where I'm missing something...

Lady A, 1257, gets up and leaves and forwards her phone to Lady B, 5007. Lady B can't answer so the call goes to mailbox 5007 in CallPilot B. If mailbox 5007 in CallPilot B has an extension DN of 1257, the caller gets Lady B's voice mail.

Vice Versa, if Lady B, 5007/5014 forwards to Lady A, 1257 and Lady A doesn't answer the call goes to mailbox 1257 in CallPilot A. If mailbox 1257 has extension DNs of 5007/5014 then the caller gets Lady A's voice mail.

In this scenario, they only get each others' messages when one is forwarded to the other. If no forwarding is implemented they get their own messages.

Are you saying that if Lady A forwards to Lady B and Lady B doesn't answer, you want the call to go back to Lady A's voice mail in CallPilot A?

War Eagle!!

lol - I'm hardly ever on the right page. ;-) I truly appreciate you taking the time to look at this.

Here is what I believe is happening:
A/5007 (or 5014 - I reckon that goes by TN, not DN right?) forwards to B/1257. B doesn't answer the call (or is busy). B's voicemail picks up but does not recognize the digits as that number (5007/5014) is not on that switch and no vmb for 5014/5007 is built on B's Call Pilot.

from there the caller gets notjhing - the system hangs up on them.

I will see what happens when I put A/5007/5014 DNs on B/1257's vmb and vice versa.

thanks!
