Hi, Is it possible to call forward a phone, using the FAC if the phone is barred. I use account codes for all the phones but need to call forward the phones to cell numbers. Obviously it won't just forward the call because the phone is barred.

I have tried to use a speed dial and add all the necessary but the phone displays invalid if I try call forwarding.

E.g speed dial number 6666 actual number *2(FAC for account code)12340084xxxxxxx. Dialing 6666 from the phone works fine but as I said call forwar the phone to 6666 doesn't.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
E

is the speed call set to override toll control?

yes, but the problem is that I need to also add the account code automatically as these calls need to be charged against a project code (account code)

Thanks for the reply

Got me, I haven't had to do it, so any other info I'd give you would just be out of the manual. And if the right answer was there, you wouldn't be here, would you? :)

You cannot forward a phone to a speedcall number. You might try setting up a new unrestricted route and ARS entries for the cell numbers with account codes included (the docs explain how to insert pauses if needed) which will send the calls out the new route. You can use the ARS table to restrict access to this route from anything other than the programmed cell numbers.

Dale,

You have just given me an idea that I'm going to try.

PS: I am sure you can forward to speed dial. Pretty sure I've done this before.

Well, technically you can forward to a speedcall but it requires setting "Call Forwarding External Destination" to Yes in the COS. This is not something I like to enable personally for security reasons.

I agree but around here in SA it's a frequent request from clients :)
