I have a 3300, and am trying to call forward from my phone to a cell phone. The problem is that I have to enter a account code. How do I enter a pause between the number and account code without using a speed call?

What is requiring the account code, the PBX or the Trunk?

If the trunk, and it is PRI then the programming can get pretty complicated.

It is a pri and it is the trunk that wants the account code. I am guessing I have to use a speed dial, but not sure.

No, I've had to do this many times. Typically for FAX machines that cant dial the PIN themselves.

The account code (PIN) cannot be in the speeddial as when the call dials it will all be sent on the D-Channel and the call will fail.

You will need to set up an alternate ARS leading digit so that a different modified digit string can be engaged VIA ARS.

Account Codes over ISDN

Tone plans with a time-out action of "outpulse dtmf" and no tones to detect may be used to switch from sending digits in D channel over ISDN trunks to sending DTMF account codes in B channel.

For example, complete the Call Progress Tone Detection Plan Assignment form as follows:

CALL PROGRESS TONE DETECTION PLAN ASSIGNMENT

Tone Plan Number: 01
Maximum Wait for a Tone (0-99 Secs) 0
Action on Time-Out: Outpulse DTMF
Tone To Detect - blank
Action to Take - blank

Tone Plan Number: 02
Maximum Wait For A Tone (0-99 Secs): 3
Action on Time-Out: Outpulse default
Tone To Detect - Blank
Action To Take - Blank

In addition, insert the tone plan in the Digit Modification Assignment form as follows:

Digit Modification Assignment

Digit Modification Number = as assigned in route table
Number of Digits to Absorb = Leading digits (1 typically)
Digits to be Inserted = Normal for PRI e.g. {000}
Final Tone Plan/ Information Marker = <T01><T02><A01>

In the above example:

<T01> is the instruction to switch from D channel to B channel.

<T02> is the instruction to insert a 3-second pause.
***Note Recently on a rel 9 system I had to remove this pause as the calls were failing. <T01><D> worked without the pause.

<A01> contains the PIN or account code, which can be replaced by <D> if AAN is used.

<A01> references a System Account Code
<D> References a default account code assigned via Station sevice Assignment

I recommend using the <D> option as the account code can be based on the set dialing the call instead of 1 code for all calls.
