call forward to external number

Hello.
I am trying to call forward a phone to an external number. I was told to use Ftr 4 but this only allowed me to forward to another phone inside our system, not externally. Please advise.

hello...it's a Norstar system, not sure which software level it is ?? If I look at set capability for my set it says M7310 does that mean anything ? thanks again

if its a mics or a cics you can look at the software card in the system (just don't pull it out)

try and describe what the system looks like

grey box on the wall, 3 slots on the front of the box, left to right 2 large (running vertical length of the box) and then 1 slightly shorter and thinner than the other two.

us line redirected F 84 if the phone dose not have lines assigned to it us all and Int. for out + out dial code ( 9 ) + #

I tried F84 but it says 'denied in admin' ... any suggestions ? thanks.

go into set programming under capabilities and allow redirect
