I was wondering if there is a way to forward no answer to an external number. I tried feature 84, but it gives me "denied in admin". What should I do to get around this, or is there another way to program a call forward to an external number.
How To Externally Call Forward a Phone:
You must have at least 4.1 software to execute this feature.
Build a Route
Services – Show
Ringing Service – Next to
Routing Service – Show
Routes – Show
Show Route: 001 – Show
Dialout: No Numbr – Leave alone – Next
Use: ( ) – Change to Pool B (we’ll change it back to pool A after building the dest code.)
DN Type: Public
Build a Destination Code:
Routing Service – Show
Routes – Next
Dest Codes – Show
Show destcode: - Add
DstCode: (enter code) – OK
Normal: 000 – Change to route built – Show
AbsorbLength: ALL
Don’t have to worry about Night schedule etc.
Go back into the Route 001 and change Use: Pool B to Use: Pool A
Make sure the phone has Allow Redirect set to Yes and that you’ve allowed it access to the line pool you’re using.
Then simply walk up to the phone and press
Call Forward Button or Feature 4
Dial the destination code + phone number.
All calls that ring on the phone will be forwarded! All calls, including IC calls. So if you want one particular line to be forwarded but not others, simply program ONLY that line to appear & ring on the set.

Is there a way to find out what software we have? I tried going through the procedure, but i get as far as "Routing Services" and when i press show, it gives me "Sched: Night". It doesn't give me the option "Route" or "Dest Code". If our software is not 4.1, what are my other options?
It won't except that password. We just moved in to the building with the Norstar System, and we're trying to utilize it. Is there a way to get that password, or reset that password?
OBTAINING AN UNKNOWN CONFIGURATION
PASSWORD ON A NORSTAR® MICS/CICS
You should have the following items:
Norstar® Remote Utilities
A computer able to run NRU and a modem or direct connection.
RAD connected to the MICS/CICS
If the configuration password is unknown there are four ways to reset the password back to the defaults:
1. Downgrading the system. If you have a fiber expansion cartridge installed you can downgrade the system by removing it and powering up. This will cold start the unit so all programming is lost. Not recommended.
2. If all else fails you can short out the capacitor in the NVRAM cartridge, again the system programming is lost. Not recommended.Recommended methods to obtain/default passwords.
3. The third way is to connect normally through the RAD to the system and with NRU then using the Browser Tool select PASSWORD. Then select PROGRAMMING PASSWORDS. You now can see and re-enter the selected password information. If your software is below 2.0 you use Norstar Manager to retrieve the password information instead of the Browser Tool.
4. The fourth way is to connect through a RAD to the system and download your passwords using NRU Excel files. Once downloaded, you would be able to display that information. You must use the Excel file that relates to your software level and unit type. These Excel files are located in the
C:/ICSRT/WORKBOOK folder.
a. Run the file and enable the macros.
b. Then set your unit hardware and configuration parameters up.
c. To reduced download time select only password information for acquisition.
d. Select the ACQUIRE tab in the Excel file and you will automatically be presented with the connection properties window of the RAD.
e. After downloading successfully the current passwords for the system are now displayed. Using this password information you now can gain entry to the MICS/CICS. MRoberts
