I have and extension 24 that is on an ata2, we want to be able to know when this extension has messages in startalk flash. i figured the best way is to program ext 24 to have both call forward no answer and call forward busy to a M7100 we have set up on his desk that has a mail box setup on it, this way he could look at the m7100 and see that he has messages.

when we call in to test and ring ext 24 it goes the 4 rings as programmed, then just says that person is not avaialble and goes back to path 1. shouldn't it get transfered to ext 33 where we have told it to go, and then when that does not answer, the voicemail kick in?

if you have any other ideas on how to make this work i would greatly appreciat it. we have 3 ata2's that need this to work on. and yes they all have there own M7100 each
the ata2 and m7100 for each person are on different extensions if this helps.

Thanks
Wes

Try going to the 7100 first if that is the mail box you want to end up in. Norstar Voicemail uses the first DN sdo the ATA's ext.

Or if you had a CP150 you could install the Desktop Messaging and when the ATA gets a message you would see it on your email on your desktop computer.

i have tried many options with these 2 extensions but no luck yet, perhaps you could tell me what to do for each ext in programming.

ext 24 is the ata2

ext 33 is the m7100 that we want to show us "Message for you" when ext 24 has not answered or is busy. (that is assuming they actually leave a message)

i need to know what i do with each ext

thanks so much, im sure i'm just 1 setting away from it working.

we currently have both extensions going to callforward no answer and call forward busy to ext 36 which is our auto attentant

thanks
Wes

What is the process of the call coming in?
What is the purpose of why you are using an Ata?

John

We are using the ata2 on a portable, (non norstar) phone. we are using a uniden 2.4 ghz phone because it is the only type that seems to have the range in our facility for the staff that use it.

we actually have 3 of these set up but we will only discuss the 1, i can duplicate the correct settins to the other 2 setups when i get the 1st firgured out

now here is what we are doing

ext 24 is the sales dept. when he is on the phone or misses the 4 rings we would like to be notified on the m7100's display screen (which is ext 33) that there is a message for him that has been left in his mail box, he only needs 1 mail box and you can let me know which to set it up on, (ext 24 or 33 makes no difference to us)

of course the ata (ext 24) phone has no way of displaying that there is a "message for you" on its display so we were advised to use a m7100 to get the ability to know visually that a message is in the mail box.

if this is not clear enough you can email me directly and we can discuss more indepth, thanks for your help
