Is there anyway to forward incoming external calls immediatly off switch from an ip device, but the ip set still needs to recieve internal calls.

Can see the obvious, call fwd always, busy int, bust ext, n/a int, n/a ext but non of these will meet the above requirement.

ANy ideas???

cheers

only way i can think of doing this is to drop the call forward no answer timer down to 1 second, then set a call forward no answer external divert on the phone as required.

is this the only way???

different answers for different systems. Also, is this to be a permanent solution? Meaning will it ever need to be turned off so that the extension can receive external calls?

Can you give us some idea why you want to do this?

Is it important that the internal number and the external number are the same?

This request makes no sense on several levels.

sorry its a 3300 rel 8 ur 5.

The customer wants to do this, they have a user at the desk to handle internal calls, but all external calls need to divert of switch.
I dont understand why the request doesnt make sense?????????????????????????

It doesn't make sense because it is a simple matter to assign one number to the external callers and a different number to the internal callers.

Based on the request, the external callers do not need to go to a set at all. The external number can simply terminate to a speedcall.

I asked if it was important for the internal number and the external number to be the same. Is it? This is why this request does not make sense to me.

I agree with kwbMitel, no point in providing the internal extension a DID if the outside call will never get there.

Change the internal DN to something else. Then program a System Speed Call equaling the old DN and point it to the external Cell #. All external calls immediately go to the cell.

If this is to be permanent, why not direct that outside call at the CO level before it gets to the Mitel, rather than tying up TWO trunks for every ONE call. Yes, that's right, every trunk the external call comes in on will still stay active while the Mitel system forwards the call externally to the cell phone using a second trunk! Yes, both trunks will be busy until the entire call is over! Make sure you have enough trunks.
