Call-forward but returns to original station voicemail
thread690-1466198 has been closed so I will ask another question on this.

Problem: Call-forward but doesn't return to the original station voicemail.

Extension 1029 on (G3Si V r011i.03.0.526.5) is call forwarded to extension 7644 on (G3Si v r011i03.2.543.0) but 7644 keeps ringing and call won't go to voicemail on extension 1029, which station 1029 has a coverage path to voicemail and the voicemail box exists.

These two switches are connected by IP DCS trunks.
Checked all settings with my previous avaya pbx admin to see if I was miss something on my IP trunking but all looks good.

Yes I have check the system-parmmeters coverage-forwarding
and the coverage after forwarding is stroked to yes.

I even tried to override the setting on the phone page two Coverage after forwarding from system to yes.

Any suggestions

call to the principal 1029 can only be answered by voicemail subscriber mailbox for 1029 unless you use secondary extension 1029 for subscriber 7644 in audix.

A great teacher, does not provide answers, but methods to teach others "How and where to find the answers"

Hi Tomy,
First check if you have set in Yes the "Coverage Of Calls Redirected Off-Net Enabled? y" field in the system-parameters coverage-forwarding in order a call can to return to the system if it goes out of the net.

In my system, the voicemail is configuread as a Hunt group; When I need to send a call to another extension when the first one is not answered and send it to voicemail of the first number if the second extension was not answered either I just configure a coverage path, the first point of coverage is the secondary extension, and the second point of coverage is the voicemail hunt gruop H1 in my case.

I hope this help you

Hey Telular

Thanks for the insight however the call will still not going to voicemail after stroking that option to yes.

The call goes to the second extension 7644 and then back to the coverage path of extension 1029 like it's suppose to. Then follows the hunt group which is call forwarded back to where Modular Messaging is home but just keeps on ringing. I think that the issue is the double call forward. No big deal I can setup a vdn and vector but didn't want to go that route.

Thanks
Again
