Call diversion on compact plus

Hi, wonder if anyone can give me a push in the right direction.

I've installed a norstar compact plus with BT rev 4 software, and have it connected to BT via ISDN 2e.

we are trying to do call diversion using *21*nnnnnnn#

It appears that the norstar is not forwarding the * or # to line. BT tell us it should be possible but beacuse we do not have a norstar support contract, they won't help further.

Anyone got any ideas or know where the appropriate setting is in config?

Have you tried setting phone to ring on line then setting feature 4 (forward calls) tel no. manually

then feature #4 to cancel
 
If this is routing it will not send the * and #. Can you use pools and access code instead of route? That will send them.
 
Not sure what you are trying to do but if you are looking for a pause in a dialing sequence try feature 78. Gives you a timed pause.

*21* is a BT feature which allows call forward to be set line side, while # is press at end of string
ie *21*tel no.#

In this case since it's not a Norstar feature perhaps the lines are dialing pulse (in config/lines) instead of tone? or there is a Telco issue.

 
Hi Everyone, thanks for your help so far,

The situation is complex, we can forward calls using a norstar feature, but then the receiver of the forwarded call only gets our CLID and not the CLID of the calling customer.

The lines concerned are not standard loop/MF lines, but ISDN 2e. On standard loop/MF calls I know *and # are forwarded to line from the norstar, but the lines we are using (ISDN2E) will not. Therefore, monitoring on the line side with a trend tester, if you dial *21*01322619555#
you see 210322 etc etc sent to line.

What in or why is the norstar software set to do this?

The Telco says its possible to set this feature, as it is not barred in the CO. However, they also said as we don't have a norstar maintainece conract with them we need to figure it out ourselves.

Cook419, i tryed it with a speed dial and Pool A. did not appear to work, but thanks for the steer

Have set the system up for ringing on line port or target line ?

 
Basically Cust calls in to you. Cust pays for that call

You forward call by Line side or by pbx side you pay for call, so you cli will be sent.

I am not aware of any way round that.

Not sure wether you are the the us/canada market or uk.

In the UK its a standartd Telco feature to be able to set call diversion in the CO(exchange), as described above. when this is set the call is no0t routed to your PBX but forwarded by the central exchange on to the diverted destination, and presents the callers ID to the diverted destination. This is what we are not able to set on the ISDN2 Lines. It will not forward a dialled * or # to line.

This is what we are trying to achieve
 
Have you tried using F84 Line Redirect? I know if I use that here in the US on a PRI circuit it sends out the original calling party infomation to the Telco.
 
I dont think so Hawks cause it is still using another line out to complete the call.
Is there a way to use a test set directly on the ISDN lines and see if you can use the *#?
If they work like PRI lines you can't use *#,because of routing.

Trying to play with this redirect but keep getting redirect denied when I choose the line(s) to redirect.

What is blocking this in admin???

I missread what you were attempting to do, like cook1082 said the Line Redirect feature will use your trunks to place the call. It looks like what you want is for Telco to place (or redirect) the call for you. have you turned on NCR (network call redirect) under the System Programming heading?

That feature is not on the UK build I guess, as its not in the system administrator guide, anless of course its an installer option?

It should be in the Installer Guide but I belive you will only get that if the System is set up as Profile 2. The following is from the 6.1 Installer Guide.

"Network Call Diversion (Profile 2)
This feature is a network function of ETSI E1 lines that allows forwarding and redirection of calls outside the Norstar network when using an ETSI ISDN line. Functionality is similar to that of External Call Forward (ECF). NCD redirects calls using the same line on which they arrive. Call forward is efficient since there is no need for additional outside lines.
