How can I in a Mitel 3300 pbx do the following.

I Have a extention that is forwarded to a mobil phone. And when a calls comes to that extention the forwarding works fine, but the number presented on the mobile phone is the pbx main number and not the callers number. How do I solv this? In some pbx they call this Call Deflection or call rerouting. It means that the Proviader gets the information from the pbx what to do with the call, in this case: drop the line to the pbx and call the mobile phone.
Anybody with god ideés?

It depends. The reason this happens is the traditional way that Mitel accomplishes the forward to an external number is to conference the incoming call with an outgoing call, so you are using up 2 trunks for the duration of the forwarded call. More recent 3300ICP releases allow a feature called "Two B Channel Transfer" (TBCT), which is available on some PRI circuits; this allows the PBX to connect 2 B Channels without utilizing PBX resources, and as a side effect, should allow the CLID of the incoming call to be presented to the forwarded destination.

So the short answer is, if you have PRI's that allow TBCT, you might be able to work around it. Otherwise, you're stuck.

Stuck?

Well no, not completely. We're doing pretty much the exact same thing but have been successful in presenting the true calling party's callerID to the external forwarded number.

Here's how: Instead of using "Call forward Always" we found that by using "Call forwaard No Answer" with a CFNA timer set to 6 secs or so (to effectively "burn" the first ring) that the incoming callerID info follows with the call on through to the destination party.

Sure worth a try.

Thank you so much!
