My office just upgraded our BCM 400 from 3.6 to 4.0. The problem we ran into was that the old keycode for the Call Center we had turned out to be a gray market code and didn't work after we upgraded. Now we are in desperate need for a new keycode and I have a supplier where I can purchase it but my sales rep said he isn't sure if the Call Center Pro will work on a BCM400 with 4.0 software. He thinks we may need to go with Intelligent Call Center instead.
Does anyone know if this is in fact the case? If it is true, are there any major differences between the two?

From what I know..
Call Center Pro comes with 30 skillsets and 20 agents
Intelligent Call Center will be coming configured with 10 skillsets and 20 agents.

The price difference is only a few hundred so if I can go with the Call Center Pro, I'd rather go that route and get more bang for the buck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I doubt you can install the call center pro on a bcm 4.0
Since 4.0 the call center is called "Intelligent Call Center" so that's what you want to look for.
If you have Call Center Pro on a bcm 3.7 and upgrade it to 4.0 it will change it to "Intelligent Call Center" with the same amount of agents and skillsets.

How did you find out the keycode was gray market ?

If its not broke tweak it..

I checked around some more and got the same answers as GBERGER. Thanks for your help.

We went ahead and installed Intelligent Call Center and everything appears to be working perfectly again.

As far as the gray market aspect of the old keycode, when we upgraded to 4.0, I'm assuming Call Center would not install. (I wasn't involved with this upgrade) My IT guys went through the vendor doing the upgrade to contact Nortel and they said they had no record of ever issuing a Call Center Keycode for our specific BCM and said that it was probably a bogus Keycode. I'm just glad I didn't supply the original Call Center Keycode. It was purchased from a vendor advertising on E-Bay and they no longer exist. Nortel said they could do nothing to help in the matter and we would have to purchase a new keycode.

Thanks again for your help.

Never come across bogus key codes before very interesting..

If its not broke tweak it..

My supplier had warned me in the past that bogus codes did exist. I originally got a price for my office on the Call Center but they thought my price was high so they went off on their own and got it from anther supplier. I always made sure to grill my sales rep to make sure that the keycodes I purchased from him were authentic codes.

I guess you always have to remember that if something is too good to be true, then it may not be true.

That's why Nortel came out with the new keycode file in Bcm50,Bcm400 and Bcm450, to defeat the gray market.
