Anyone know if the the person monitoring a call center call can record the call?

The book states that if you use call record, F989, then at the beginning of a recording session, all parties hear a notification, and at the end same. This is while you are on a call.
But while you are monitoring a call, your phone is muted... how far that all goes to get what you ask for I don't know.. but I would guess that as the agent only hears a ringing to notify him/her that the supervisor is monitoring and recording calls for quality control is the new thing and CP is new.. I'ld give it a try.
Radio Shack (yes eccccchhh!!!) is presently marketing a little gizmo that goes between your phone and handset which quite capably records any call you are on without notification. Only $100.00 in the Queen's tender. I've seen these used and am quite impressed.

Yes that message from nortel is peeving....as soon as I warn cutomers about it they say they dont want it lol.
Will have to get CC on the test CP we have then or sell it and replace with a 150 and give it a try......was a question from a possible customer we have quoted for.
Nice tip about the Shack Recorder btw....I know a few who could use that

I remember seeing that the monitoring of a call uses conference to do so, recording a call in vm also does the same. you cannot do both at the same time due to lomitations on the confrence feature.
with that said take a look at
this is an after market device that will allow recording direct off of a digital norstar phone.
