Hi,

We have a BCM400 and it is interpreting the call barring tone as an engaged tone.

Has anyone had a similar issue?

Ok don't want to sound stuipd but what is a call bearing tone.

A call barring tone gives the message "Sorry, this telephone number does not receive incoming calls." (Repeat)

Our BCM 400 system is interpreting it as an engaged tone and the caller does not hear any message.

The only time I have had anything similar to this was when I has a PRI trouble at BCM end.

The message is a standard BT message.

If I dial the number from a standard analogue line, I get the message, however if I dial through the BCM I get an engaged tone.

Sorry, I am new to this game what is the PRI?

PRI: Primary Rate Interface is an ISDN product that uses T1 (24 channels) as a pathway in and out of a system. A PRI has 23 channels available for voice traffic with the 24th used for signaling, because of this arrangement, PRI can pass Caller ID across the trunk, where a T1 cannot.

If you are in Europe, the equivalent, I believe, is the E1 with 30 usable and 2 signaling channels.
