I am currently running a 3300 icp cxi and one extension on a 5330 handset always gets "Call Barred" when they try to dial out. It doesn't matter if it is an internal or external extension. I believe it happened after trying to dial an 800 number. Has anyone ever encountered this? Is there a way to fix it without a reboot?

I'm pretty sure that this device has a different interconnect number than the other devices. Change it so that it is the same as the other devices and test. No reboot needed.

What makes you think that you have time to fix it?

I just verified that it is the same as all of the other devices. I should also mention that it was working correctly until that extension called an 800 number.

Is the interconnection setting set the same as the devices you are trying to call?

Yes, this system has 50 5330 phones and all of the interconnect numbers are the same. It also displays Call Barred and won't dial out for external calls as well.

Check for any codes with 800 or something simular

The part that is confusing us is your statement that internal calls are affected. Please confirm.

Otherwise the most likely culprit is the COR of the phone.

Yes, all outbound calls both internal and external are affected. I read in another forum that it sometimes is a problem with the BRU? and a reboot is required to fix. I was just hoping I wouldn't have to reboot.

It is hard to imagine an internal controller error barring calls for just 1 station.

Is it possible that the phone has been "Locked"

Use Maint Command - Locate Features Extension to determine active features.

Check the interconnect restriction.
Check the COR.
Check the tenant.
Check hotdesk. (is the phone logged in/out)
Check the COS.
Check to be sure you are working on the extension you think you are.

I'd suspect the COS if the COR is known to work ok.

Ralph, Thanks for the ideas!!! It ended up being a tenanting assignment problem. I forgot that I had been experimenting with tenanting a while back and had thought I had deleted everything! I really appreciate your expertise.

Yes,

Tenanting is a little more obscure, well done
