Hi,

I have a situation where dialing a certain number causes the IP phones to display call barred from time to time, not every call. As far as I am aware this is not a Mitel barring issue as the Mitel display phones display Access Denied if this is the case.

It looks like it's only a certain number, 0861xxxxxx that causes this. Another 0861 number does not have the same problem. I ran a CCS trace and the call seems to disconnect.
However I am unable to interpret the CCS trace disconnect reason code. Usually during a normal call clearing its outputs a '30' but in this case it's an 'A'

I have a 3300 CXI running the latest release of software with a quad BRI. Also the problem does not appear to be trunk specific. It might a few times on a certain trunk and then not work another few times and then work again and so on.

I will paste the CCS trace. Maybe someone can shed some light on this.

Thanks in Advance.

Normally I've seen "Call Barred" on an ISDN trunk when the CO is not allowing the call to go out for one reason or another. Check your ISDN settings and make sure they're correct, could be a digit mod issue as well.

Yeah I agree that the ISDN might be the problem here. I need to know the "for some reason or another" :) All other calls work fine though so I don't think a digit mod issue.

If I can interpret the disconnect reason from the CCS trace, I can go back to the client and let him know excately what the problem is. Right now though the onus is on me to prove the it's not the system

First place I'd look is the cause codes on the D-channel, that may give a clue as to why the CO switch is rejecting the call.

Does the CCS trace not give the cause code?

If so I posted the CCS trace earlier and the cause code is "A"

Are you perhaps reffering to the edt command?

Cause codes are numerical, from 1 to 127. I'm not sure about BRI, but I know on a PRI card or NSU you need to attach to the serial port on the card/NSU itself and issue "option +dispcause" to show them. I don't have much experience with BRI interfaces, so I'm not sure if it works the same for them.

Calls barred is a ARS issue or your ISDN is programmed incorrectly. It can be caused by one of many ARS issues as stated including your digit Mod or CORS.

Caper, in this case it's not ISDN setup nor ARS or CORs. I try the number using individual trunk access. Sometimes the calls works other times it doesn't.
