Hi everybody,

I have 4 analog trunks where i conncected 4 celullars devices, but i need to balance the calls among this trunks, do you know how to balance all the calls that are coming to those trunks. Becasue in this moment only one trunk has the majority of the calls and the rest have less traffic.

Thanks.

I do not believe that you can control how your inbound calls are balanced, or atleast not with the Mitel. For outbound calls it is quite easy. I assume that you have placed your trunks into a trunk group to make use of ARS. I would be willing to bet that you have programmed the trunk group to be TERMINAL. In the programming of the trunk group you should be able to make it CIRCULAR.

TERMINAL setting will have the system choose the first listed trunk if idle. If it is busy, then the system will look to the second listed trunk and so on. Then on the next outbound call, the system will again look to the first listed trunk.

CIRCULAR setting is slightly different. If the system selected the first trunk on the last call, it will look to the next listed trunk and select if idle. If that trunk is not available, it will look to the next one. For the next outbound call, the system remembers what the last trunk picked was and will look to the next listed trunk and select if idle.

Setting to Circular will balance the outbound calls more, but it will not be exact due to lengthy calls!

Good luck.

Not to jump in unwanted, but in some areas, you can request inbound calls on certain trunk groups to be Round-Robin (Circular) vs. Linear (Terminal). I am not sure this is what is needed here, since the cellular devices are in the picture, but some service providers can do this.

Don't mean to just jump in, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

Hope this helps,

Scott M.

MITELMX,

If it's the case that these are inbound trunks, you could direct them all to one dial-in answer point, and have that be a circular hunt group pilot number.

I've never tried this, can't guarantee that it will work, but it's an interesting experiment that might pay off.

Directing all calls to one dial-in point that is a HG number will only balance out the extensions the inbound calls are answered by, not which trunks are receiving the inbound calls.

Using the HG does work quite well. I have used it for Auto Attendant by using the VM HG access code.

Paterson,

You are correct, my bad - next time I'll RTFQ!

MITELMX,
It occurs to me that telco could put these trunks into a hunt group for you a la analog DID's - for a price, I'm sure, but possibly the solution.

what do you have 4 cell docks-and talks pluged in to
an loop start card?

I have 4 Cell conected to 4 analog trunks.

Let me explain how works this device, i don´t know if is a Cell Dock Unit, is a little box that works like a Cellular Phone, it has its own number, the name is TELULAR, but instead of being connected to a phone is connect to my Analog Trunk, after, i redirected all my outbound cellular calls to this trunk and not to my CO Trunk, because the price is cheaper than my other supplier. So, i have 4 devices connected to 4 analog trunks, but when i make a phone call always the system use the first trunk and not the rest, and when i hung up the call the trunk was still busy for a while.
I changed to Circular mode in the trunk and it worked much better, but i still have the problem with the "busy line" when i hung the line.

Thanks.

can you not set that trunk goup to hunt circular?
is there a hang up code for telular unit?

Actually before it was configure like terminal and now is Circular, and i don´t know if exist a code to hang up the unit , i need to search in the manuals... but i think it´ll be like the faxes when they don´t hang up the calls.
Do you know if exist a disconnect time?

Thanks

is this a sx5 unit you may want to look 2 pbx disconect
feature see page 22 inb manual if it is a sx5
