Hello,

Does an MICS have a feature that has a record of call activity. Or is this a software upgrade? Also is this possible on the CICS?
Thanks for the help.
Dmac,

There is a call logging option on both the MICS and the CICS. The log can contain:
sequence number in the call log
name and number of the caller (if have caller id)
indication if the call was long distance
indication if the call was answered (and by whom)
time and date of the call
number of repeated calls from the same source
name of the line that the call came in on.

Now all this is real time and there are only so many spaces available system wide. On a MICS you have 600 spaces that you would need to distribute to the different phones you want to track. IE., 20 phones... each phone gets 30 spaces. Then with auto bumping turned on the oldest entry is bumped off to make room for the next new entry.
On a CICS you have a total of 250 spaces.

If you require more call accounting features I would suggest an SMDR (station messaging detail record) device with some Call Accouting software such as Tapit.

This is in no way a sell for a product, But we use Microcall . We have had no problems with it . all you need to do is have an smdr and hook it into station side on the KSU . then configure microcall to give you the reports you want.
It works pretty good . You can have Microcall email the reports right to your desk if needed or you can have the dump into a directory or somethin.
I hope this helps .

* note for this to work you will have to have a PC on site with Microcall loaded on it .

If you find a tip helpful Please take a moment to mark it as such.

Mario,
I, being the cheapskate that I am, just take the smdr string and save it to file using procom(any terminal software will do). with a text file it is easy to import the data into a spreadsheet and sort the data. 'course I don't need the info often so this just gives me basic info. JerryReeve

Can anyone tell me how to activate the SMDR on a mics 4.1 I have looked in programing mode and cannot find an option to turn it on. José

Jose,

You dont activate it, you buy it! It is an external device which attaches like a 7310 to a station port on the MICS. Then you buy some 3rd party software and connect it to the serial port of the SMDR to capture the data and generate reports.

PS.. The smdr comes in several releases. I believe that you need a release 6 to work with V4.1 MICS

Hope this helps.

I've use an SMDR4 on a MICS 4.1 and MICS 5.0

Works just as well, except it won't capture caller ID data into the SMDR record, for that you need a SMDR 6.

You can download a trial version of TAPIT call acctg software from it will last 30 days.
