Hi Guys, is it possible to call a specific macro or program (within Access) from a batch file.

I have an Access pgm (SysProcess.mdb) that gets used by everyone so I cannot put a AUTOEXEC in it. However It contains some tables I need to update. Is there a way (other than linking the tables into SysProcess.mdb from a data database) to run my pgm?

Thanx so much

Have a look at the /x command line option.

Hi Remou, I tried googling the /x command but cannot find the syntax for it. I even tried the Advanced Search here in Tek-Tips and NADA.

Do you have an example or a link to an example?

Thanks so much for responding

Thank you so much Remou. May I ask you indulgence and pose another question?

I know that there is a way to call a database/macro from the Windows Scheduler but I'm not sure of the syntax. Do you or anyone else out there happen to know how that's done?

Maybe I am in the wrong forum for that. Should I pose this question in the Windows forum?

Thank you

Thanks so much Remou but I think I figured it out.

I thought I had it figured out, but I'm getting a 'Could not Run' status.

Here is what I have in the RUN box:
"C:\Documents and Settings\Automation\Start Menu\“C:\Program" Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\ MSACCESS.EXE" “G:\ops\datacon\Syspry.mdb” /x mcr_Start_Processing

Here is what I have in the Start In box
"“C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\ MSACCESS.EXE"

Can anyone see what I am missing?

Thanks much

Perhaps:

[tt]"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\MSACCESS.EXE" "G:\ops\datacon\Syspry.mdb" /x mcr_Start_Processing[/tt]

Make sure you have a password, too.

I had to rebuild the task, the scheduler kept adding a path to the front of my RUN path.

Anywho, I'll run paralell Monday. I'm sure it will run just fine.

Thanks so much Remou
