Calendar Controls used for Date datatype Params??

Has anyone been able to figure out how to use Calendar Controls in a parameter which takes a date datatype? I'm trying to avoid having params where the user actually types in information. I don't want to put all the dates possible in a dropdown list either, because that would just be cumbersome.

Thanks in advance!!

Nevermind. I may have just found the solution.

if anyone else has this question. If this doesn't work for me, I'll post, but it seems someone else has already figured it out.

Thanks anyway!!

Catadmin,

The basic RS parameter interface does not have anything like calendar controls. In the article you posted, the designer created a separate interface where they placed a calendar control to capture the date parameters. I do this all the time myself. I use the DateTimePicker control in .NET as my control of choice. Then you place a Web Browser control or the Report Viewer control in your application as listed by the article. You just pass it the url with the parameters appended.

Damn. I just noticed that. Now I'm aggrivated. Thought I found a nifty new tool here.

I hope 2k5 RS allows the use of these tools.

More research indicates that Calendar Controls will supposedly be available with the next release of SQL RS. Not holding my breath. In the meantime, guess I'll have to work around this by either allowing users to enter their dates or by using an ASP Page to come up with a calendar control.

Bleargh!!!
