I have set-up 2 databases and linked them both using two fields. In one DB, I have 3 calculation fields. 2 of these fields use the SSum function to keep a running total of 2 other fields in the same DB. The third calculation field uses a field from the other DB and then divides that number by one of the running calculation fields.

I have populated these databases with live data and the calculation fields don't display anything in Browse mode. In Design mode, they display zeros (which is not the correct calculated value). I have checked the calculation formulas and everything looks okay.

Anyone have any ideas about what I need to do from here?

Thanks. -BigTex

Calculated fields that use summary functions, like SSum, SCount, SAvg, etc., will never display in browse mode on a report view. The summaries are not calculated until you go to PrintPreview or print the report.

On a form view, you can get these fields to display if you follow the rules.

1) The field being summarized in the formula must be in a database that is joined to the main database for the form.

2) The summary options you define in Field Definition must be in the form of "All records in xxxxx" where xxxxx is the name of the table where the field being summarized is stored.

3) The calculated field cannot be a summary of another summary field - that type will only display in PrintPreview on a form. It can add, subtract, etc other summary calculated fields and display OK.

I hope this helps!
