Calculating totals on a report

I have a survey database with questions much like the following:
Very Poor Fair Good Very
Poor Good
-----------------------------
Were you plesantly greeted: 1 2 3 4 5

(sorry the fields don't line up on this post but you kind of get the idea...)

There are also some Yes/No fields that I want to calculate as well. I am basing my report on a query for a specific date range. I have tried doing a totals query to get the totals, which is fine but it's not the way I want my report to look. I want it to look something like the question above but total how many said Very Poor, and so on...

How would I go about doing that? I've tried calculated fields on my report using the dCount function but I can't seem to get that to work correctly.

Can anyone help???

How about fields like
iif(iRank=5,1,0)
iif(iRank=4,1,0)
(etc.)
and, yes, use a "totals report" (i.e. an aggregate report), where you change "group by" to "sum"

This will count the number of '5' responses in the first field I show above, etc. Is that what you're after?

larryww,
I hope this doesn't sound like a stupid question, but where do I use the fields you suggested? On my report? I'm not sure I understand. Please advise... I kind of understand the route you are taking me but I'm not sure exactly how to use it. Thanks for your help!

Those are fields as you design the query. I started to say report, but didn't stop the browser before it submitted it (and AFAIK you dan't delete or edit your messages in Tek-Tips), so my first reply above should be disregarded - sorry.
