Hi all

We've about to move 2 DL380 G4 servers from one data center to another. However, before we do this we need to calculate the power consumption of these servers. Can anybody advise me how I can go about calculating this ? I presume I would need to look at something like:

Max power consumption of the server itself
max power consumption of each hard drive (multiplied by the number of drives)
max power consumption of the CPU

Is this how I would go about it? Or is there a better way ? Also, what about redundant items such as HDD and power supplies ? Do I need to take these into my calculations also ?

Thanks in advance for any help

sorry guys, I really should use google more :-(
When I done a site:hp.com search on google I managed to find some interesting links that'll do the work for me:

Article:

Online Power Calculator Catalog

Although it says G6 at the top, it seems to list previous generations also as it listed the DL380 G4

Hopefully this use may be of some use to somebody in the future who comes across this post :)
