Calculating monthly hours for biweekly employees

Does anyone know of a way to calculate the total amount of hours worked in a month for a biweekly population that is paid on a lag? I can seem to only create the report based on "Earnings.Check_Date", which currently miscalculates total hours for the month if the paydates fall within the next month.
