I work in a hosptial setting and what I'm trying to do is calculate the number of admissions for a certain month. I also want this number to not include certain zones. Right now I am calculating the number of total admissions for the history of this facility. The main report pulls data from a month's period. Should I do this in a subreport or in the main report and how?

You could hard code it into your record selection formula:

(Table.Zone} not in["Zone1","Zone2","Zone3"]

or use a multi-value parameter to choose which zones the report should be run for.
