Hi,

I have a cube that contains a calculated category, category D. The calculation for category D = category A + category B. Measure 1 is simply a sum, measure 2 is a sum, and measure 3 is measure 2 / measure 1, formatted as a percentage.

The cube builds OK, but when the cube is opened, it is appearing as follows (the numbers below are only examples)

DIMENSION 1 MEASURE 1 MEASURE 2 MEASURE 3
category A 100 50 50%
category B 100 20 20%
category C 100 30 30%
category D 200 70 2

For some reason, the MEASURE 3 value for the calculated category (category D) is not being calculated or formatted as a percentage. Does anyone know of a way to correct this in the cube model itself so it displays the correct value and in the correct format? (ie. without changing the data sources)??

did you try changing the output scale in the properties of the measure, and the storage type, and does that make a difference?
how does your allocations, and scope look?

Is the column calulated in transformer or in PP? If you use PP just click on measure 3 column & format as required, it will format the entire column.

In transformer click on the measure in question & make sure the correct format is selected.

Good luck

OK...Maybe the way i displayed my sample data isnt doing me any favours. In the powerplay cube I have

MEASURE 3
category A 50%
category B 20%
category C 30%
category D 2

The measure 3 values for categories A, B and C are correct - and the formatting is appearing correctly, it is only the value for the calculated category (ie category D) that is appearing incorrectly - its showing the 2 instead of say 70%.

The output scale/storage type is ok, because for the regular categories, the measure value is correct. The scope is also OK.

I am also formatting the measure in transformer to be a %, hence why I cant understand why the calculated categories' value is not correct, nor formatted!!

Any more ideas??
