Hi, i have an question about an calculated catagory. The situation is like this. I have an calculated catagory that shows upto and including months (like upto and including march is januari+februari+march). I have tested the cube, all values in dimension ytd, pytd, ytd change are correct when i select upto and including month march in the dimension viewer. The problem comes when the values are in percent then the calculated catagory also calculates percent values.
Example januari has value 100 and 50% growht
februari " " 200 and 50% "
march 100 and 50%
When I select the calculated catagory upto and including march. It shows correctly the sum like in example 400, but it calculates also de percent growth which is like in example 150% this is not correct. My calcutad catagory doesn't have to calculated the values in percent. Is there an option in transformer/powerplay that allows me to say disable the calculated catagory in some dimensions??? I hope i was a little bit clear? I hope you can help me.
Thx anyway!!!

Where have you created the calculated category ? If the calculated category is created in a powerplay report then powerplay will do the calculation you requested (in this case Addition) to all of your values.

One way around this is to create special categories in the transformer model for each of your months, and add into each of these the months that make the cumulative total.

You can then use the special categories in a powerplay report and the measure values will display correctly.

Hi GJParker, I created the calculated catagory in the dimension diagram in the transformer model. I allready had the dimension Month that includes all months from januari till december. In the dimension diagram I calculated for example to get upto and including march like jan+feb+march. This effects in powerplayreport the values right but the percents not. Like in example in my 1st thread. I hope you can discover the problem I'am absolutely desperate. Thx anyway.

It is not a Calculated Category you want in this instance but a SPECIAL CATEGORY.

Transformer Help will lead you through creating a special category, let me know if you need any more help.

GJParker, I mada now special catagories, I called them upto and inculding months. example in special catagory march I included januari februari and march. I didn't calculated them just connected the special catagory to another catagories. I will test him now and you will hear from me. Thx!!!

Open up the dimension diagram for the month dimension.

1. Drag the cross hairs from the right of the main month level to create a new special category, Enter a label for this new category e.g. Cumulative Months. click OK

2. From the Cumulative Months category drag the cross hairs to the right to create a 2nd special category, Enter a Name for this new category e.g. Cumulative March. click OK

3. Highlight the existing Jan, Feb and March categories and drag these over the new Cumulative March Category to add these months to the category.

Follow steps 2 and 3 for each individual month to create 12 special categories.
