We currently are looking to implement a call accounting system. We need to produce a return on investment document to get the project approved. We are probably overpaying on some services, but there is no way to know until we start auditing them. Anyone have any sample documents that might show how to do a ROI calculation? Thanks!

You'll need to show how you can either save money or time, or increase productivity or quality. You'll have to identify the process, do a calculation on the savings and put that into dollars then figure out what the payback period is. (divide by the cost of the solution)

RE: Call Accounting

You've identified that you think you are overpaying on some services.

You haven't identified how call accounting will resolve the issue or the amount of savings you expect from shuffling your services that you think you overpay.

I can't imagine anyone spending more than $1,000 for a call accounting package installed unless they are multisite - multi location. Call Accounting is a tool and before you utilize tools like these you need to know what you want to acheive.

There are other tools at your disposal before implementing call accounting which for most is a soft dollar investment. It's a tool !

Other TOOLS:

* paper and pencil
* calculator
* 3 months of ALL your telecom bills
