On a normal Access form (I am using Access 97), a form which is linked to a table or query has a control for moving through the recordset at the bottom of the form which only shows up in the "View" mode. I want to calculate a field after the user clicks the "next record" button, how would I do this?

To save you some pain, use the Form_Current() event instead. This will run the calculation every time you switch records, REGARDLESS of how it happened.

This is the general answer.
