I am using SQl Server 2000 Analysis Services for building cubes and MS Data Analyzer.
Data Analyzer does not provide support for MDX expression except in the form of Calculated members feature of Sql server OLAP.
I have 4 dimensions. Consider A, B, C, D and a measure X.
I want to write a calculated member expression (Y) having a fixed value which will be equal to the value of the measure X corresponding when Dimension A, B, C, D are their topmost levels in hierarchy.
Logically the expression may be like:
Calculated member Y = measures.[X] when dimensions A, B, C, and D would had been at their top most levels of hierarchy.
So if I were to drill down on a cube the value of calculated member would be fixed.
