I have a computer that was connected to a local exchange 5.5 server. This computer was moved to a remote site and setup to use pop3. All of the calander and contact information is stored on the server and was showing up in outlook when it was a local computer on the local network. Now that it is remote and using pop3 I can no longer access the contact info / calander or older emails. Can these be extracted to a pst file from the server then loaded on the PC at the remote site? Can someone tell me please how to configure this so I do not loose all of this information. Also when I connect using OWA the old mail, contact info, and calander data is still on the server. Thanks for all your help in advance.

Don't expect much from pop3 other than receiving the contents of your inbox. You could setup a machine at that remote site and manually extract each account's contents into their own pst and restore each person's. You still won't really have any of the exchange functionality such as calendar sharing, contacts, etc. Plus everything now will be stored in each individuals PST which makes backups a mess.

Course you didn't ask my opinion, I was just offering it. You might want to look into something else besides connecting via pop3 (it is a really basic protocol) for reasons of security, functionality and restorability.

Is vpn an option?
If not then use OWA..
If you can't use OWA then I guess pop3 is left.

I've seen Exchange authentication issues over VPN unless there is a BDC at the remote site. Any suggestions on getting around the BDC solution?

I have a lot of users who VPN in without a bdc at their remote site. I haven't seen the issue you are talking about.
