Hi,

I'm planning to change all my network infrastucture with hardware and software.
We have already Windows 2003 Server Standard version as well as Windows 2003 SBS Premium Edition.
What I would like to know is how much CAL's do this versions have? How can I find that out?

Thanks.

How many did you purchase? That's how many you have.

I'm Certifiable, not cert-ified.
It just means my answers are from experience, not a book.

I always talk to my CDW rep. There MS Licensing team is great at explaining things.

Depending on how this was purchased originally will tell... could have been box product, OEM, or MS volume license.

With SBS it normally comes with 5 CALs but with Standard, it could be just the server license only and no cals. You should be able to check your invoicing and/or the vendor you purchased from to show how many CALs you have. You possibly could check with Microsoft if you did volume licensing, but they won't know if you went OEM since that goes through the equipment manufacturer only with the sale of new equipment.

Are you staying the SBS path?
How many CALs do you need?
