Caculated Members in SQL

I am having an issue veiwing large amounts of data when the data is a caculated measure. If it is a simple measure coming from the fact table and I veiw the same data it works. Ex. Customer by Item Sales. I am using Microsoft SQL Server 2000 to build cubes/measures and then I am viewing the data in Excel using pivot Tables. Any help would be great. Thanks.
